Hi folks, J.G. Wentworth here.
Did you know that Labor Day only became a federal holiday in the United States in 1894? Up until that time, there were some individual states that had set aside a day to honor their workforce, but it was only when President Grover Cleveland convinced Congress that the amazing social and economic contributions of American workers should be celebrated that this great holiday was created nationwide. Over time, of course, Labor Day became much more than just the national “working man’s holiday”. It now marks the symbolic end of summer – a day to fire up the barbecue one last time, enjoy a day at the beach with friends and family, even lament (especially when we are children!) the beginning of another school year.
It also marks the start of the season of one of America’s most popular sports, football – just one more reason to celebrate! Yet with all that Labor Day has come to stand for, none of us should forget that at its core this holiday pays tribute to what is unquestionably America’s greatest resource – its workers. Here at J.G. Wentworth, we are especially proud of our workforce.
Kind and diligent, patient and dedicated, J.G. Wentworth employees are truly the backbone of our company, and the primary reason we are among the most reputable and established companies in our industry.
