Each and every week, we blog about topics related to your financial health and well-being. J.G. Wentworth is one of the largest structured settlement and annuity payment purchasers in the country, specializing in getting folks just like you cash now. So it’s no surprise that so much of what we write about relates to hard-earned dollars and cents – not just how to get it sooner but also how to make it last as long as possible.
Today, however, we would like to talk about something completely unrelated to money; today, we would like to explore that rather hard-to-define concept known as the “Christmas Spirit.”
What is it exactly? According to Calvin Coolidge, our 30th president, “Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” Or consider this quote, from the great American writer Washington Irving: “Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”
Neither of these quotes have anything to do with money, and neither does today’s blog. All we want to express today – all we hope for you and your loved ones – is that your Christmas Spirit burns bright, that your holiday season is worry-free and full of love, and that whatever acts of kindness and charity you perform, fill your heart and others with contagious warmth that continues to spread its glow throughout the year.
